Riding Skills (Braking/Swerving/Turning)

To lean the motorcycle to the left at speed, you should:

  • A.Shift your body weight to the right only
  • B.Press forward on the left handgrip
  • C.Turn the front wheel far to the right and hold it
  • D.Pull the clutch in and coast through
Correct answer

B. Press forward on the left handgrip

Why

Pressing forward on the left handgrip leans the bike left, and pressing the right grip leans it right. This press-to-lean technique, often called countersteering, is how turns are initiated at speed.
