A yellow diamond-shaped sign with black symbols of an adult and a child walking, or a sign showing a person in a crosswalk, means:
- A.A hiking trail begins and motorists may ignore it
- B.A bus stop is ahead
- C.Motorcycles may use the sidewalk
- D.A pedestrian crossing is ahead — slow down, watch for people crossing, and yield as required
Correct answer
D. A pedestrian crossing is ahead — slow down, watch for people crossing, and yield as required
Why
This warning sign alerts you that pedestrians may cross the road ahead. Slow down, scan both sides and the crosswalk area, and be prepared to yield and stop, since a person on foot may be hard to see until the last moment.
